Jayne Giordanella

I have been on and off stage since the age of 8 when I discovered ballet and attended lessons at the Royal Academy of Dance, Battersea, London. As a teenager, Theatre Studies became my passion in High School. I continued to keep active within the performance arts sector on a part time basis within theatre productions; acting, directing and set design, mostly performing at Wimbledon Studio Theatre, London. Today I now live in Gozo, Malta and work as a professional actress. During a 2020 lockdown I co-wrote a play, which I'm currently working towards producing and in November 2021, I won gold for Malta as the winner of the Endurance category in The World Monologue Games competition with a piece I also wrote. The last few years I have been working on film sets credited both as cast and crew. One of my notable TV credits was being cast in the new Apple TV Series ‘Foundation’ as Mother Zephyr and my latest theatre appearances, include the Astra Theatre, Gozo in the Sound of Music, Mrs Twit in Roald Dahl’s The Twits at Malta’s national Manoel Theatre and in Kes at the Blue Box Theatre, Malta. 2022 has been the official launch year of setting up my passion project; the Ringside Theatre Company, with the support of my husband Paolo. I performed the lead role of Amber in Together Alone in RTC’s debut production, which I also produced and Paolo wrote. It is my aim within RTC to offer professional theatre within small, intimate settings as well as founding an enthusiasts group to encourage more community involvement in the performance arts sector particularly in Gozo. Using my 30 years + experience, I run a weekly drama group for the local community with classes on various acting techniques and methods to introduce a solid learning background to those with less experience on stage and engage and keep established acting skills active for those professionals who wish to stay stage ready.
